Barbara and Anine are third generation native Montanans, born in Victor in the Bitterroot Valley. They both graduated from Montana State University with BS in Nursing, and have very successful careers independently. Their mutual love of rocks and desire to create together gave birth to “Sisterly Creations”. In good weather, they rock hound for Montana Moss Agates. The stone are then cut, groomed, polished and designed into jewelry. Each stone is unique and each piece of jewelry is hand crafted by the artisans.
Since Barbara’s retirement, she lives in eastern Montana and devotes full time to Sisterly Creations. Anine has answered Montana’s call and returned home to the call of the agates.
Petrified wood is a fossil where minerals (usually silica) have replaced the original structure of the wood but it retains its wood appearance. This petrification process occurred naturally over millions of years with the extinction of dinosaurs in Montana.
Montana Moss Agate are semi-precious stones that formed during series of volcanic eruptions causing massive lava flows along the eastern front of the Rocky Mountains occurring millions of years ago. These flows contained mineral that enriched the silica with red, orange, brown and black colored as well as crystals and common opal.
Agates create spiritual, intellectual and emotional balance. Help someone become “centered;” glean positive lessons from negative experiences; build self-confidence; enhance mental well-being; improve focus and concentration; and enhance analytical abilities (see a practical solution) – give the gift of a piece or two of Montana Moss Agate jewelry from Sisterly Creations.
